As of 2026, I’ve been running Zibai constantly in Genshin Impact, and the first thing I tell friends is simple: she is not a plug-and-play Geo carry. She is a Sword-wielding main DPS whose Geo DMG and Lunar-Crystallize reactions want a team that keeps reactions flowing while spending very little time on field. Because Zibai stays on the field for the full duration of her Elemental Skill, every teammate needs to enable, buff, or debuff quickly. That is the lens I used for these comps.
Why Columbina Is Almost Mandatory
I would not build a serious Zibai team without Columbina. She gives absurd buffs to Lunar reactions and follows up the team’s Lunar-Crystallize triggers with more Lunar-Crystallize. Zibai also buffs Columbina’s Lunar-Crystallize reactions, so the pair has real two-way synergy. In my runs, that interaction is the engine. Zibai also wants Hydro and Geo allies because they raise her DEF% and Elemental Mastery, which makes the Hydro-Geo core feel natural rather than forced.
Premium Team: Zibai + Columbina + Illuga + Aino
This is the version I recommend when resources are not the limit. Illuga and Aino are both 4-star characters, but their buffs and debuffs are essential. Illuga is a Geo buffer who greatly increases Zibai’s damage and her Lunar-Crystallize reactions. He raises Zibai’s Crit Rate and Crit DMG while also increasing the team’s Elemental Mastery. His kit does not mind a Geo-Hydro restriction because Zibai wants those elements anyway. Aino, especially at C6, noticeably increases the team’s Lunar reactions.

If I need more sustain, I swap Illuga for Zhongli and take the shield comfort. If I need a different Hydro enabler, I can replace Aino with Kokomi, Xingqiu, or Yelan. Non-Nod-Krai characters are safe here because Zibai and Columbina already provide enough Moonsign for the team.
Hexerei Team: Zibai + Columbina + Albedo + Fischl
I like this setup when I want a Hexerei angle around Zibai. Albedo is a solid off-field Geo enabler, and he benefits from the constant reaction noise. For the fourth slot, Mona and Fischl are the two names I consider. Mona further improves Lunar-Crystallize and helps Zibai get full value from her passive. Fischl is the more aggressive pick because she triggers Electro-Charged with Columbina’s Moonsign Benediction passive.
C6 Fischl gets extra value from Zibai’s Normal Attacks because she follows up every hit with an Electro attack. In my experience, Fischl is good enough to make up for the Elemental Mastery Zibai loses from her passive in this configuration. Albedo also deals plenty of off-field Geo DMG, and with so many reactions firing, the team can be hard to track in a good way. Whether I stay on Hydro-Geo synergy or go with Fischl, building a Hexerei team around Zibai feels worth it.
F2P Team: Zibai + Xingqiu + Illuga + Aino
When I want a budget-friendly version, I replace Columbina with Xingqiu. Yes, the team loses a premium support whose kit rivals Archons, but Zibai still gets a functional F2P shell. Xingqiu acts as a battery and deals acceptable off-field Hydro DMG. The team remains Hydro and Geo only, which fulfills Zibai’s and Illuga’s passive requirements. It also exclusively triggers Lunar-Crystallize reactions, which gives more value to Zibai’s own Lunar-Crystallize buff.
My Quick Verdict
If I had to rank these for 2026, I would put the premium Columbina-Illuga-Aino core first, the Hexerei Albedo-Fischl version second for players who enjoy reaction chaos, and the Xingqiu F2P version third for accessibility. Zibai rewards teams that trigger Lunar-Crystallize early and often, and she rewards players who respect her field-time demands. That is the whole puzzle. Once I stopped treating her as a solo Geo carry and started treating her as a reaction driver with a strict support clock, her teams clicked. 😊
